The 2nd Vocational Skills Competition of the People's Republic of China, with the theme of Skills to Become Talents, Skills to Serve the Country, was held in Tianjin from September 16 to 19, with more than 4,000 players from all over the country competing in 109 projects. Xu Yuyu, a 2023 student majoring in food intelligent processing technology (middle and high school penetration) of the School of Food and Pharmacy Science and Drug Science of our university, won the winning award of the sugar art/pastry production project.
This competition mainly competes for the completion of candy art pastry works, and assesses the exquisite skills, artistic talents and innovative ideas of the contestants. It mainly includes 10 modules, such as homework book, competition process, butter cookies, mold chocolate candy, handmade chocolate candy, sugar art modeling, chocolate modeling, marzipan kneading, decorating cake, plastic cake, etc., the competition time is as long as 14 hours, divided into three days, which tests the mentality and physical strength of the contestants. After hard work, Xu Yuyu successfully completed the work, ranked seventh in the overall score, and won the winning award.
The school will continue to strengthen the construction of the talent training system of promoting learning by competition, teaching by competition, construction by competition, and innovation by competition, build a platform for the growth of skilled talents, improve the competition mechanism, and lead students to take the road of becoming skilled and serving the country with skills, and strive to forge a group of politically qualified and outstanding young technical and skilled talents, so as to contribute youth strength to the construction of a manufacturing power and a skilled China.
