Biomedical technology is one of the three leading industries in Shanghai. In 2019, in response to the talent demand of the Shanghai Bay Area Biomedical Port, the School of Food at Zhongqiao Vocational and Technical University was approved by the Ministry of Education to establish a vocational college in biopharmaceutical technology and renamed the School of Food and Pharmacy.This major officially enrolled in 2020, with a steady increase in enrollment every year. Currently, there are over 200 students enrolled. Third year students have entered internship positions. In 2022, it was approved as the seventh batch of modern apprenticeship pilot majors in Shanghai. A large amount of work has been carried out in the development of training models, training plans, curriculum systems, engineering and academic alternation management models, and the construction and improvement of flexible credit systems.
Dr. Zhuang Yingping from the School of Food and Pharmacy at Zhongqiao Vocational and Technical University serves as the Director of the National Biochemical Engineering Technology Research Center (Shanghai), an expert in industrial biotechnology in the field of 863 biology and medicine, and the Vice Chairman of the Biochemical Professional Committee of the Chinese Chemical Society. I have been engaged in long-term research on optimization and scaling up of fermentation processes, and have carried out a large amount of work around the basic research, key common technology research, and technology promotion of industrial biological processes.
