Since the launch of the Belt and Road Initiative, Chinese vocational education has played an increasingly important role in supporting enterprises going global, promoting industrial connectivity, and facilitating people-to-people exchanges. From vocational training programs to the export of educational standards, the internationalization of vocational education has become a key pathway to enhancing the country’s global competitiveness and advancing high-quality education. As a practice unit for deepening industry-education integration and promoting vocational education internationalization in Shanghai, Shanghai ZhongQiao Vocational and Technical University actively responds to national strategies, continuously expands cooperation with high-level overseas educational institutions and industry resources, and explores new paths for internationalized education.
On October 10, the Morimatsu–ZhongQiao International Class officially launched at Shanghai ZhongQiao Vocational and Technical University. The opening ceremony was attended by Morimatsu International Holdings Co., Ltd. CEO Mr. Nishimatsu Jieying, the Group’s HR Director Mr. Lu Weifeng, leaders from Renbang Human Resources Consulting Sdn. Bhd. (Malaysia) and Fuchen Liyie Human Resources Development Co., Ltd. (Shanghai), representatives of the university leadership, international and functional departments, as well as media representatives. The launch of this international class marks a new milestone for ZhongQiao University in “vocational education going global” and sets a benchmark for international school-enterprise cooperation.
The Morimatsu–ZhongQiao International Class represents a significant achievement under the framework of “vocational education going global” through collaboration between ZhongQiao University and Morimatsu (China). The program enrolls Malaysian students majoring in mechatronics, with all tuition, living expenses, and scholarships fully funded by the Morimatsu Group. The two parties jointly developed a talent cultivation plan, incorporating enterprise technical standards and smart manufacturing practices, while offering specialized courses such as “Chinese Manufacture”, “Chinese Enterprise Culture” and “Cross-Cultural Communication” enabling students to integrate knowledge, skills, and cultural understanding. Ten Malaysian students will complete a three-year systematic study at ZhongQiao University, followed by practical training at Morimatsu (China) factories, and upon graduation, return to Morimatsu’s Malaysian factories to serve as project supervisors and technical professionals, achieving seamless integration from classroom to workplace. The program implements a “dual mentorship system” from both school and enterprise, providing students with comprehensive guidance in learning, practice, life, and psychological support to ensure they gain both knowledge and experience in a cross-cultural environment.
