On August 21, 2025, the National Youth Traditional Sports Finals officially opened at Shanghai Zhongqiao Vocational and Technical University (SHZQU). As a co-organizer, SHZQU has supported the event for three consecutive years, with over 600 student volunteers contributing more than 32,200 service hours. Their efforts have ensured thoughtful and professional services for more than 8,500 young athletes from across the country, earning high praise from the organizing committee, participants, and parents. From reception to logistics support, the volunteers have consistently delivered with dedication and excellence, showcasing the spirit and vitality of youth at SHZQU.
At the opening ceremony, Shen Yaojia, Head of the 2025 Volunteer Service Team and a student representative, shared her reflections: “This is my third year volunteering at the National Youth Traditional Sports Finals. Through this experience, I have truly felt the rapid development of our country’s sports programs and witnessed the dynamic growth of our university. Most importantly, I have been inspired by the determination of countless young athletes fighting for their dreams on the field.”
The highlight of the event was an inspiring dialogue between SHZQU volunteers and Wu Minxia, China’s first five-time Olympic gold medalist in diving and National Youth Sports Ambassador. Drawing on her personal journey of training and competition, Wu shared her perspective on perseverance and craftsmanship: “The spirit of craftsmanship is not limited to one person or one task. It is a collective force shaped by many in their own fields. More importantly, it is about passing this spirit on—so that those around us, and future generations, can be inspired and strengthened by it.”
Looking ahead, SHZQU will continue to provide meaningful platforms for students to grow through major national events, encouraging young people to embrace responsibility, pursue excellence, and contribute their passion and strength to society.
