In the summer of 2025, student groups from Shanghai Zhongqiao Vocational and Technical University (SHZQU)traveled to the United Kingdom and Australia for a series of study abroad programs. Through classroom learning, professional practice, and cultural immersion, students broadened their global perspectives, enhanced their professional skills, and built meaningful international friendships.
United Kingdom: Academic and Cultural Immersion
On July 27, the SHZQU delegation arrived in the UK for a ten-day program centered in Cambridge. Students quickly adapted to the academic setting through placement tests and intercultural workshops. Morning sessions focused on subject learning and cross-cultural discussions, while afternoons extended knowledge into practice: a Cambridge Walking Touroffered insight into centuries of academic tradition, the Fitzwilliam Museum provided encounters with art and history, and a visit to Ely Town allowed students to experience medieval architecture and culture. The blend of classroom and experiential learning created a rich, holistic journey.
Australia: Cross-Cultural Collaboration and Professional Practice
On July 20, another SHZQU group landed in Perth, Western Australia, for a two-week program at Curtin University. Students attended lectures on Australian society and culture, and engaged in business project work based on their fields—finance, management, and design. Under faculty guidance, they carried out market research, designed business models, and delivered final presentations, showcasing both professionalism and innovation.
Beyond academics, students explored the natural beauty of Western Australia: meeting friendly quokkas on Rottnest Island, experiencing the unique landscapes of the Pinnacles Desert, and marveling at the striking colors of the Pink Lake. These experiences highlighted the joy of exploration and the value of cultural exchange.
