New Semester   New Journey

On 1st March 2024, in order to welcome the arrival of the new semester, the teachers of Modern Logistics Management Major gathered together to participate in a unique seminar, aiming at studying the latest logistics trends and discussing the direction of professional development.

The seminar started at 10:30 a.m., and the meeting was hosted by the professional director, Mrs Yu Wenling. Firstly, Professor Zhang Shuyi, the discipline leader, made a brief introduction on the declaration work of Supply Chain Manager Programme, the construction work of professional group, and the scientific research work. Besides, he expressed his expectation on the future development of the profession. Secondly, Mrs Yu put forward several requirements for the beginning of the new semester to ensure stable teaching order at the beginning of the school year with constantly improving the quality of teaching. At the end of the meeting, all the professional teachers had a heated discussion on the future development of professional construction. Facing the new situation of logistics and supply chain development and the current problems in the construction of modern logistics management, and the problems of breaking through to promote the development of professional construction, professional teachers reached a consensus on teaching, scientific research, international exchanges, recruitment and employment, social services and other aspects.

Teaching: every teacher can be based on the industry and joining up with an industry,in order to do a good job of their own transformation and the new teaching content; to promote the integration of industry and education, and strengthen the construction of on- and off-campus training bases; to expand the school-enterprise co-operation units, and to promote the modern apprenticeship system; to strive for excellence in student skills competitions, teachers' skills competitions, and so on.

Scientific research: doctors, professors and associate professors take the lead in setting up scientific research groups and strive to make achievements in the direction of low-altitude logistics, low-carbon supply chain, digital supply chain, etc.; accelerating the construction of teaching materials and high-quality courses.

International Exchange: the teachers try to strengthen the publicity of international exchange programmes and improve the English language skills to meet the requirements of the university's international development; strive to open 1-2 bilingual courses, etc.

Recruitment and Employment:     the teachers try to strengthen the professional publicity through website, promotional films, consultation meetings, etc.; promote the declaration of new majors; encourage students to start their own business and incubate innovative and entrepreneurial projects, etc.

Social services: the teachers organise social training and evaluation for supply chain managers; organise supply chain management related forums/seminars; provide logistics consulting services, technical support, professional training, etc. for the society.

The seminar was compact and productive. The success of this seminar not only stimulated the teachers' enthusiasm for teaching, but also provided a new direction for the development of logistics professional construction in the new semester. It is expected that under the joint efforts of this team full of passion and creativity, the major logistics will make more brilliant achievements in the future.
