Adding an 'International Lock' to Food Safety: Detailed Explanation of BRCGS System and Professional Blueprint

The tenth session of the Famous Teachers and Craftsmen Leading the Way, Craftsmanship Cultivating Food Talents Food Professional Demonstration Course and Special Lecture Series of the School of Food and Pharmacy will be held on December 3, 2025 at 19:00 in Room 204, Building 10. This event is hosted by Mr. Chen Lexia, Quality Director of Shanghai Xinguo Food Co., Ltd.

Teacher Chen Lexia explained the framework of the BRC standard and comprehensively interpreted the deep connotations and implementation requirements of the twelve core clauses, including Senior Management Commitment, HACCP System, Product Control, Process Control, and Personnel Control. Through horizontal comparison, the unique advantages and application characteristics of the BRC standard compared to other food industry certification systems in terms of compliance, professionalism, and international recognition were explained. Finally, Teacher Chen outlined a career blueprint for the quality management department in food production enterprises, helping students clarify their employment direction and goals.

This lecture starts with the BRCGS clause and extends to the analysis of the current implementation status of domestic enterprise standards, ultimately focusing on the knowledge and skill requirements of specific positions. The content progresses from shallow to deep and progresses layer by layer. This has injected momentum into the steady progress of food safety and quality management for students majoring in food and medicine.

The Famous Teachers and Craftsmen Guide the Way, Craftsmanship cultivates Food Talents - a series of demonstration courses and special lectures in the food major, is a joint educational platform created by the college, the Shanghai Private University Development Foundation's Craftsman Plan project, the Chief Technician Studio in Jinshan District, Shanghai, and the Shanghai Lan Yan Zhi Zi Career Counselor Studio. This activity focuses on the construction of the food profession, inviting experts and teachers from various fields to give lectures, helping students solidify their professional foundation, and cultivate applied and artisan talents.
