Food Professional Demonstration Course "When Bread Meets Art: Chinese Style 'Panda' Bread Creation Course"

The third phase of the Food Professional Demonstration Course Leading by Famous Teachers and Craftsmen, Cultivating Food Talents with Ingenuity at the School of Food and Pharmacy will be held on October 31, 2025 at 3:30 pm in Room 110, Building 6. This event was hosted by Mr. Lantian, a national technical expert, member of the baking project national team of the 46th World Skills Competition in 2020, and first prize winner of the 2023 Shanghai China Cup Teacher Vocational Skills Competition. With the theme of Panda Bread, he led students to explore its cultural heritage and connotation in depth.

Blue Sky Teacher conducts in-depth sharing on the creation of Chinese style Panda bread, adhering to the core proposition of using food as a medium and art as the soul. He emphasized the need to accurately capture the charm of panda innocence in creation, while rooted in traditional pastry techniques, and flexibly incorporating creative ideas while adhering to basic techniques such as dough processing and shaping. In addition, the teacher also briefly analyzed the current situation of the creative baking industry, pointed out the innovation direction and consumption demand core driven by China-Chic, and looked forward to the future development trend, bringing practical and forward-looking professional guidance to students.

This event has opened the door to 'art bread' for students. Using the creative practice of Panda Bread as a carrier, students can experience the craftsmanship spirit of choosing one thing, refining one craft. The reverence for craftsmanship, the demanding attention to details, and the persistence in quality are the professional qualities that every foodie should adhere to, and they are also the core force that elevates food from a food for the stomach to a cultural carrier.

The Famous Teachers and Craftsmen Leading the Way, Craftsmanship Cultivating Food Talents series of demonstration courses and special lectures in the food major is an important initiative jointly carried out by the college, the Shanghai Private University Development Foundation's Craftsman Plan project, the Jinshan District Chief Technician Studio in Shanghai, and the Shanghai Lan Yan Zhi Zi Career Counselor Studio. This activity aims to promote the construction of the food profession, deepen the cultivation of applied talents and professional talents with the spirit of national craftsmanship, and build a platform for the growth of professional talents that complements practice and learning.
