In order to thoroughly implement the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on the work of skilled talents and skills competitions, effectively strengthen the construction of skilled talent teams, and effectively promote the high-quality development of the three economies, the Agricultural Product Quality and Safety Inspector competition of the 2024 Shanghai Special Vocational Skills Competition (Jing'an Zone) was successfully held at the School of Food and Drug of Shanghai Zhongqiao Vocational and Technical University on December 15. This competition is hosted by the Jing'an District Human Resources and Social Security Bureau of Shanghai, organized by the Shanghai Central Asia Catering Service Training Center, and supported by the School of Food and Pharmacy at Shanghai Zhongqiao Vocational and Technical University.

The competition is aimed at backbone management personnel engaged in the food related industry, with the concept of promoting learning, training, evaluation, and construction through competition. It is committed to promoting food related talents to master the practical knowledge and operational skills of agricultural product quality and safety inspectors, and has attracted more than 70 participants to actively sign up for the competition. The competition follows the three-level model of agricultural product and food inspectors, as well as the methods of proposition, assessment, and evaluation, comprehensively considering the theoretical foundation, skill application, and comprehensive ability of the contestants.

To ensure the smooth progress of this competition, Shanghai Zhongqiao Vocational and Technical University has closely cooperated with Shanghai Agricultural Broadcasting School to establish a joint competition guarantee team, held multiple competition preparation and coordination meetings, and made every effort to do a good job in all pre competition guarantee work.

The Shanghai Special Vocational Skills Competition is an important measure for the city to serve the country and major development strategies, focus on industrial transformation and upgrading, and accelerate the training of urgently needed talents. The competition is closely linked to the national industry-specific vocational skills competition, fully leveraging the leading and exemplary role of vocational skills competitions. It awards the third level vocational skills certificate for agricultural product and food inspectors to participants who score over 60 points in both assessments. The aim is to cultivate and select more high skilled talents in the food industry, optimize the talent supply structure, and promote the construction of a skilled talent team in the food industry in the new era.
In recent years, the School of Food and Pharmacy at Shanghai Zhongqiao Vocational and Technical University has attached great importance to the evaluation of skilled talents, and has provided evaluation services for more than 1000 people, gaining unanimous recognition from participants, relevant training schools, and colleges. In the future, the school will continue to benchmark against national vocational skills standards, with the goal of providing high standard evaluation quality, continuously optimizing the application process, enthusiastically providing business consulting and acceptance services, focusing on improving the level of on-site evaluation services, standardizing evaluation work, and continuously contributing to the construction of the city's high skilled talent team.
