On September 14, at the invitation of our college, the relevant person in charge of Jinshan University held a meeting with the 2012 freshmen of the Department of Food and Chemical Engineering in order to enhance the communication and understanding between the two sides.
At 2 p.m., the meet-and-greet begins.
First of all, Jiang Zhiming, president of Chinese Overseas Chinese College, made a brief introduction on the educational background of the specialty planning, construction and future planning of the Department of Food and Chemical Engineering. He stressed that the cooperative education mode of food and chemical majors with Kingsoft is a reform of Shanghai vocational education system to adapt to the future development. It is also one of only two universities in Shanghai.
Subsequently, the two principals of Jinshan University introduced relevant majors to the students of the two departments respectively.
Bi Yulong, the principal of Food Science and Technology School, made a special report for the new students of food department to let students know more about modern vocational education, more familiar with Jinshan School, more familiar with food biotechnology major. The report is divided into three parts. In the first part, President Bi introduced in detail the modern vocational education system Shanghai is trying to build under the guidance of the education concept of for the lifelong development of every student. The second part mainly introduces the specialty of food biotechnology. He emphasized that our school, food biotechnology, is a key major in Shanghai secondary vocational schools, has a group of high-quality, highly educated and stable double-qualified teachers, has a group of domestic advanced level of experimental and practical training facilities; In the third part, President Bi introduced the required hours, credits, vocational certificates and other requirements of the students in the study of this major. At the same time, he put forward higher requirements for the students, hoping that they could adapt to the college life as soon as possible, pay attention to the cultivation of practical ability, strengthen professional quality and cultivate a rigorous and realistic learning style.
Mr. Su Yong, the principal of Petrochemical Industry School, gave a presentation on Applied Chemical Engineering Major for the students of chemical engineering Department. The report will be vivid, detailed and rich. Through a large number of examples related to the application of chemical engineering, President Su made the complex chemical process simple and novel, and the students listened with great interest. By introducing the present situation and developing tendency of chemical industry in the world, he points out the advantages and disadvantages of chemical industry in our country, and points out the employment advantages and good prospects of chemical industry students. President Su made a further introduction on the teaching teachers, teaching experiment and training conditions, learning and living conditions, and finally encouraged the students to learn professional knowledge and devote themselves to the chemical industry in Shanghai.
Finally, the two principals interacted with students from the food and Chemical engineering departments. Students raised questions about their concerns about professional development, future employment situation, living and learning environment of Kingsoft, and the two principals answered them in detail. Through this meeting, the students from the Department of Chemical Engineering and the Department of Food deepened their understanding of their own major, dispelled their doubts about the new major, and increased their confidence in learning.
