Specialty features: Approved by Shanghai Vocational Skills Appraisal Center, it has become one of the few universities in China with food inspection skills appraisal. It has signed school-enterprise cooperation agreements with nearly 10 large inspection and testing institutions such as Ingle Testing and Certification Group, Shanghai Intertek Group, Ingle Testing and Certification, Pini Testing, Shanghai Quality Supervision and Inspection Technology Research Institute and so on, achieving the zero gap connection between schools and enterprises, realizing the order-type training, and students' employment upon enrollment; This major has two Shanghai municipal teaching reforms, namely dual certificate integration and Middle and higher vocational integration, with outstanding teaching reform achievements and high teaching level.

Training objectives: Taking chemistry (inorganic and analytical chemistry, organic chemistry and food chemistry) and food safety (food microbiology inspection, food physical and chemical inspection, food nutrition, food engineering, food sensory evaluation, food quality and safety management, etc.) as the main line, guided by the current domestic and foreign policies, regulations and technical management system of food safety and quality management, By means of physical and chemical analysis and inspection technology, food-borne pathogens inspection technology, modern instrument analysis, and other experimental techniques, senior agricultural food inspectors and food quality and safety management personnel in the process of food production, storage, circulation and sales are cultivated.

Compulsory courses: routine physical and chemical testing, routine food microbial testing, food safety physical and chemical testing, pathogenic microbial testing, instrument analysis, food standards and regulations, food quality control and management, food technology, food additives, training of middle and senior agricultural products and food inspectors, etc.
