In 2019, the 46th WorldSkills Competition Shanghai Selection Contest -- Sugar Art/Pastry Production was held in Shanghai Le Cordon Bleu Cooking Vocational Skills Training School. Outstanding representatives from different schools in Shanghai participated in the selection contest, among which Zhang Yiwen from Class 1 of Food Processing (Safety) Middle School of our school, ranked ninth. Won the winning prize in the municipal trial.
It is reported that the candy Art/pastry making project lasted for 9 hours, including chocolate whole cake with candy holder, chocolate candy, almond paste shaping three sub-projects, requiring participants to have the professional skills of chocolate tempering, candy pulling and blowing, cake decoration, almond paste pure hand shaping, etc. The comprehensive test of the player's ability to deal with the clever collocation of raw materials and calm and persistent ability to fight. Zhang Yiwen's award is closely related to her usual efforts. Almond paste shaping is her daily hobby, and there is a special showcase of her almond paste works at home. She used recess and weekends to improve her skills, and her vivid candy art works were recognized and praised by teachers and classmates in the school.
The student's instructor, Mr. Ou Jieming, is a technician student. He has certificates of advanced pastry master, classic coffee, fancy coffee and other skills. He is also the judge of the roasting project in this municipal selection competition.
Skills Competition provides a quality platform for our students to improve their skills and exchange. This is the first time for our school to participate in the competition and accumulate experience. We look forward to further achievements in the competition in the future!
