From April 10th to 12th, 2025, the "Case Summary and Exchange Conference on the Integrated Development of Intangible Cultural Heritage and Vocational Education" was grandly held at Guangdong Asia Television Performing Arts Vocational College, hosted by Xinhuanet. The School of Art of Shanghai Zhongqiao Polytechnic University stood out with its case "Industry-Education Integration Paints a New Picture of Inheritance", winning the "Outstanding Case Award" and becoming one of the eight keynote speeches on typical cases at the conference, demonstrating the innovative responsibility of Shanghai's vocational art education in the field of intangible cultural heritage inheritance.
Since its launch in August 2024, this exchange conference has undergone case selection from over 200 universities across the country, with 63 achievements ultimately being shortlisted for final review. As the only two selected universities in Shanghai, Zhongqiao Art College was represented by Professor Zhu Xi from the Intangible Cultural Heritage Master Workshop of the Art College. In his keynote speech, he systematically explained the practical experience of the college in integrating intangible cultural heritage skills such as Jinshan Farmer Painting into the curriculum system through school enterprise collaboration and project-based teaching, and incubating more than 20 cultural and creative products for rural revitalization.
This case sharing session was favored by the organizers and received high recognition and praise from the participants and other institutions. Everyone agrees that the case of integrating intangible cultural heritage education at Zhongqiao Art College has set a very typical model for promoting the development of vocational art education. In his summary and evaluation after the keynote speech, President Ke of Guangdong Asia Television Performing Arts Vocational College, the host of the conference, emphasized: Shanghai Zhongqiao University, in exploring new teaching approaches to cultivating students through intangible cultural heritage, has strengthened the guidance of intangible cultural heritage, established cultural confidence, and created the Zhongqiao experience of 'intangible cultural heritage cultural and creative products, aesthetics first', making contributions to rural revitalization. Finally, the organizing committee of the event nominated and commended teachers Zhu Xi and Shen Yuan for their submitted cases.
By participating in this exchange activity, Professor Zhu Xi deeply realized many pain points and hotspots of intangible cultural heritage. Compared with the experiences of many outstanding institutions across the country, continuous efforts are still needed to truly form a new teaching form and innovative model of intangible cultural heritage in the collaborative education between schools and enterprises.
Looking ahead, the School of Art of Shanghai Zhongqiao Polytechnic University will unwaveringly continue to promote the inheritance and innovation of intangible cultural heritage, deepen the integration of industry and education, contribute to the prosperous development of intangible cultural heritage, and at the same time provide students with a broad stage to showcase their talents and enhance their comprehensive abilities. On the new journey of deeply integrating vocational education with cultural inheritance, Zhongqiao Art College is continuing to write an era chapter where traditional culture and modern education complement each other with innovative strokes.
