On March 1, the Friendship Village of Langxia Town in Jinshan District welcomed a group of energetic and creative youth. Liu Lei, director of Digital Media Art at Art College of Shanghai Zhongqiao Vocational and Technical University, Li Zihan, teacher of digital media technology, and student volunteer representatives joined hands with youth representatives of "Two enterprises and three new", young volunteers of the District Planning and Information Bureau and young volunteers of "Qingli Qingwei" to jointly carry out a unique "I am a rural Beautification Artist" youth innovation activity.
After the brief launch ceremony of the activity and the introduction of the Jiemei House base work by the Youth League Committee of Langxia Town, all the participants quickly devoted themselves to the intense and orderly work. In total, they were divided into three groups and went to all corners of the friendship village to carry out detailed field trips to beautify the countryside.
With their professional knowledge, volunteers from the School of Art of Shanghai Zhongqiao Vocational and Technical University are keen to capture the unique features of rural architecture and landscape. During the inspection, we had in-depth exchanges and discussed issues such as the layout of streets and lanes and the utilization of idle space in the friendship village.
After the inspection, the three groups of volunteers gathered together and cooperated to develop a design plan based on the field investigation. Art school students draw sketches, using color and line to sketch what the countryside could look like in the future. The youth representatives put forward ideas on cost budgeting and other aspects to improve the plan together. Finally, the representatives of each group presented the design sketch and explained the preliminary design plan, which covered the renovation of the building facade, the greening of public space, and the creation of special cultural landscape, etc., aiming to create a friendly village that not only retains the original style of the village, but also is full of modern art.
This activity provides a practical platform for students to apply their knowledge to rural construction, while also bringing new design concepts and vitality to the countryside. The relevant person in charge of the Friendship Village welcomed the arrival of the volunteers, she said: "The arrival of the volunteers has brought new ideas and vitality to the development of the friendship village.
