They visited Yonsei University, Kyungnam University, Konyang University, Sangji University, and Baekseok University for exchange discussions. They conducted in-depth visits and research at each university, and had in-depth discussions on joint training, semester exchange, scientific research cooperation, and others. They also visited teachers and students from Zhongqiao University to study in South Korea.
During the visit to Kyungnam University, a meeting was held with Vice President Hong Zhengxiao. Since the collaboration between the two universities, a mechanism for student exchange has been established. In September 2023, a group of students from Zhongqiao University studied at Kyungnam University for BA/Master Degree. President Hong Zhengxiao mentioned that in January 2024, Shanghai Zhongqiao Vocational and Technical University held a three-week international winter camp, and the participating students from Kyungnam University gave high praise. According to student satisfaction surveys conducted by various countries and schools, Shanghai Zhongqiao Vocational and Technical University received the highest score, especially in the field of engineering, which received good praise from the students. It is hoped that students can be sent to Zhongqiao University for short-term study every year in the future.
President Huo Jiazhen expressed a warm welcome and invited students from Kyungnam University to come to Zhongqiao in September this year with German students for a semester exchange in the field of business. At that time, students from China, Germany, and South Korea will form a special class to study professional courses and experience the culture together for one semester. According to the needs of Kyungnam University, a semester exchange program in the field of engineering will also be established in the near future. Both sides also had extensive discussions on joint training and research cooperation. After meeting, they visited the campus of Kyungnam University with a focus on visiting the practical training rooms of engineering majors. Before leaving Kyungnam University, President Huo Jiazhen and his delegation also had a talk with two students abroad from Zhongqiao University, inquiring about their academic and living conditions.
During the visit to Konyang University, a meeting was held with president Jin Rongxia. The two universities signed a cooperation agreement. Konyang University is ranked 15th in the field of education in South Korea and has its own 3A hospital on campus. The hospital provides free annual physical examinations for students and teachers. President Huo Jiazhen and his delegation visited the Jianyang University Hospital and the building of School of Nursing. Subsequently, the two sides had in-depth discussions on joint training of nursing students and employment opportunities after returning to China. After graduating from the three-year nursing program at Shanghai Zhongqiao Vocational and Technical University, students can continue their studies for one year at Konyang University to obtain a bachelor degree. They can then be recommended for employment at 3A hospitals in China.
During the visit to Baekseok University, President Huo Jiazhen had communication and meeting with Zhang Zexuan, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of Baekseok University, and Song Jixin, President of Baekseok University of Culture, and signed the cooperation agreement. There are 30,000 students in Baekseok University, and the scale of enrollment and employment rate rank for Baekseok University in the top 10 in Korea. The two parties fully communicated with each other on short-term study, semester exchange, and joint cultivation of students. President Huo Jiazhen and his delegation visited Baekseok University's campus and training bases, and had a conversation with six international students from Zhongqiao University, He said that Zhongqiao University will provide assistance and support all the time during the period of study.
During the visit to Sangji University, exchange talks were held with the President Huo Jiazhenthe and Dean of the Graduate School, Lu Bingzhe, etc. Sangji University is the first private comprehensive university in Wonju City, and is a key university in the central region. The university's specialties are closely aligned with the industries in the Wonju region, and it focuses on the training of specialists in the fields of healthcare, life, and the environment, and it has its own Korean hospital as well. The two parties discussed cooperation in the subject area of healthcare science. The specialized students of the Elderly Service Management and Medical Electronic Instrumentation Program from Zhongqiao University can study in the Healthcare Science Program of Sangji University for one year to obtain a bachelor's degree.
Meanwhile, President Huo Jiazhen and his delegation also had a talk with two teachers of Zhongqiao University who went to Korea for further study, concerned about their study and life in Korea.
Eventually, President Huo Jiazhen and his delegation paid a visit to Yonsei University, a world-renowned university, ranked second in South Korea and 73rd in the world by QS2023, with 25,000 students enrolled, whose business department is one of the most competitive majors in the whole of South Korea.It is also the only university to have received both Triple Crown (AACSB, EQUIS, AMBA) accreditation and all the accreditations of KABEA. The Yonsei University attaches great importance to internationalization. International students from 105 countries are already studying at Yonsei University, and more than 400 universities around the world, including Tsinghua University, Peking University, the University of Hong Kong, and the University of California, Berkeley, etc., have set up a scheme for exchanging international students.
The two parties discussed about the application of master's degree in Yonsei University's School of Global Excellence for outstanding undergraduate students of Zhongqiao University. At the same time, They made agreement that a training program will be opened in Zhongqiao University's College of International Education,to help students apply for undergraduate in Yonsei University through the training program.Yonsei University also scheduled a return visit to Zhongqiao University in May, 2024.
This visit promoted the exchange and cooperation between Zhongqiao University and Korean universities, built a platform for the teachers and students to enhance internationalization, and strengthened the friendly relationship with the important partners in Korea.
