The university carries out multilevel and a broad scope of educational exchanges and cooperation to improve the internationalization level of our faculty and staff. Every year, the university selects and sends 5-10 faculty and staff members to study abroad in Singapore, Spain, and the U.S. In this process, the faculty and staff can better adapt to and participate in the rapidly changing domestic and international environment, further promote self-improvement of the faculty and staff, and enhance their international competitiveness. As of 2022, there are 45 faculty members with overseas study backgrounds. Thanks to the increase in the number of cooperation with overseas universities, the university will further improve the internationalization of faculty’s education background (see Table 5 for details).

For instance, the School of Food and Drug in promoting the international training of faculty, also makes full use of the university-enterprise cooperation platform and provides a “Double Qualification Faculty” training environment.

From February 15 to February 22, 2017, Dr. Youzhi Wu from the School of Food and Drug was invited to visit the Renault Dessert School in Paris, France, and visited the Renault food processing plant and pastry school, and experienced the French-style lectures on site. The two sides made an in-depth and extensive communication and reached a consensus on cooperation. Renault Dessert School in Paris will assist Zhongqiao University to build a standardized training room according to their standards. Renault School Paris will send dessert masters to Zhongqiao University regularly to guide faculty's teaching and students' learning. Renault Paris School will open a training programme in Zhongqiao University, where students can receive training from top masters and obtain a certificate issued by the Renault Dessert School.

According to the university's internationalization goal and combined with the characteristics of foreign language specialties, the School of Foreign Languages actively promotes the overseas master's and PhD degree programmes, in order to enhance the academic degree and professional level of the faculty. In 2021, two faculty members received master's degrees from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, and in 2022, one faculty member received a master's degree from the University of Barcelona in Spain.

In addition, depending on the grade level and the practical training assignment of corresponding semesters, the School of Foreign Languages has collaborated with the curriculum design department of World Group to create online teaching course packages for speech training, oral presentation training, cultural understanding and workplace English training. The school organizes faculty to observe and evaluate teaching modules and teaching effects, and encourages them to absorb and integrate the appropriate elements into teaching practice.

Every year, the university selects and sends faculty to overseas training, encourages academic backbone to carry out academic exchanges and research cooperation in overseas universities, and makes efforts to improve the internationalization level of the teaching staff. The university will focus on strengthening faculty’s ability in teaching in English, so as to provide human resources support for international curriculum construction and development. Through continuous training, the university aims to have more than 40% of full-time faculty with overseas education and experience by the end of 2025.
