School of Nursing and Health is a secondary college of Shanghai Zhongqiao Vocational and Technical University. There are 1 vocational undergraduate nursing major, and 4 specialized majors including Nursing (Geriatric Nursing), Nursing (Rehabilitation Nursing), Smart Health Elderly Care Service and Management , Medical electronic instrument technology, among which the nursing (elderly nursing) major is included in the Shanghai Higher Vocational Education Innovation and Development Action Plan 'Backbone Major' Construction Project. At present, there are nearly 800 full-time students. The school takes Sincerity, Fraternity, Morality, and Dedication as its motto, and strives to cultivate skilled and complex talents who can perform standard basic nursing and medical clinical nursing, and who can take on the social responsibilities of health promotion, rehabilitation nursing, and long-term care.

The School of Nursing and Health has a 6,000-square-meter teaching and training complex, a special geriatric care/rehabilitation nursing training base and a complete clinical nursing training base. It has a simulation center for the aged state and a home care simulation center conforming to Shanghai college standards. Besides the two centers, there are 19 training rooms in total, including community long-term care centers, and special training rooms for Internal medicine, Surgical medics, Gynecology, and Pediatrics. Each training room is equipped with corresponding training equipment, so that students can access advanced equipment and concepts at home and abroad and master clinical skills during the school. At the same time, it has signed internship agreements with tertiary hospitals such as Shanghai Changzheng Hospital, Shuguang Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the Fifth People's Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University, becoming an off-campus internship base.

Closely combined with the reform of the national medical and health system and the development trend of the elderly care service industry, the school takes the advanced ability training as the main line, takes the practical teaching as the starting point, and emphasizes the “integration of teaching, studying and doing”. With the teaching goal of cultivating “high-quality technical and skilled talents”, the school practices the talent training mode of “combination of medical and engineering, relying on industry and facing the position”. Relying on the cooperation platform with excellent enterprises at home and abroad, the school has established the “dual system” training mode, and the teaching mode of “combination of school and enterprise, combination of theory and practice, and combination of curriculum and certificate”.

The school attaches great importance to the improvement of scientific research ability, actively participates in the national key research and development plan of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and is committed to applying scientific and technological achievements to the field of elderly care and promoting active and healthy aging.

There are excellent full-time and part-time teachers to teach, and at the same time, some well-known domestic and foreign experts in nursing, health and pension are invited to give special lectures to expand international vision. The teaching team is composed of experts and full-time teachers from relevant disciplines. In 2019, it successfully applied to become a pilot institution for “Certificate of Vocational Skills for Elderly Care” and “Certificate of Vocational Skills for Demented Elderly Care” in the “1+X Certificate” of the Ministry of Education.

The graduates have become leading talents in comprehensive medical institutions, geriatric nursing hospitals, geriatric specialized clinical medical institutions, rehabilitation nursing institutions, various elderly care service institutions at home and abroad, rehabilitation physiotherapy, health management, operation management and other positions.
