       The College of Foreign Languages has always adhered to the principle of cultivating people by virtue, taking service development as its purpose, promoting employment as its orientation, insisting on meeting the needs, combining learning with practice, combining knowledge with practice, and striving to cultivate compound talents with foreign language application ability, professional post ability and cross-cultural communication ability.

        The college has three majors, namely Applied English, Business Japanese and Applied Spanish, and a Public English Teaching and Research Section, and undertakes the College English teaching work of the whole university. Business English and Business Japanese, which were offered in the 1990s, were the earliest majors in our university, and they have been included in the national enrollment plan since 2002. Applied Spanish major was established in 2002 and began to enroll students.

        The college has a teaching team with rich teaching experience, good teaching skills, including 6 doctors and 43 masters. There are 2 professors, 3 associate professors and 14 lecturers. Three teachers won the “the Shanghai Education Award”; Many teachers have won the first, second and third prizes in the Shanghai Teachers' Lecture Competition of Higher Vocational Colleges. Our students have won many awards in various skills competitions in Shanghai and China.

        At present, the College of Foreign Languages has established friendly and cooperative relations with many colleges and universities in the United States, Britain, Japan, Spain and other countries to carry out various forms of international exchange projects, such as summer camp, paid internship, short-term exchange, long-term study abroad and so on. After graduation, students are recommended to enter domestic undergraduate colleges and universities for undergraduate education, or go to Britain, Spain, Japan and other countries for undergraduate education or above. They can also engage in foreign business (business negotiation, foreign secretary, business documentary, business assistant, etc.) in foreign trade, commerce, foreign affairs, finance, education and other enterprises and institutions foreign affairs liaison (translation, foreign affairs liaison, foreign affairs receptionist, foreign affairs management personnel, administrative assistant, etc.).
