In this era of information explosion, data has become an important basis for enterprises and individuals to make decisions. Mastering the implementation skills of data projects can help improve one's work efficiency and decision-making level. The School of Information Engineering held a Metro Data Analysis Learning and Sharing Exchange Conference on January 8th at 3:00 PM from 9-501.
Mr. Zhou Yang, an outstanding alumnus of the college, currently serves as the General Manager of the Datatist Dragon Technology Equity Alliance Business Unit and Senior Director of the Data Operations Department. In order to help more students grow professionally, gain experience, and increase their understanding of data analysis, he adheres to the concept of giving back to his alma mater and creating more opportunities for overseas Chinese students, and has become the leader of Metro's data analysis project.
A Metro data analysis project team was formed with Zhou Yang as the project guide, Chu Ruhao as the project manager, Fan Kaixuan as the product operator, and Duan Lian, Lin Mengqiang, and Huang Jingwen as data analysts, providing students with the opportunity to truly participate in real enterprise projects in the future. From October 31st to present, after more than 2 months of practical experience and thorough reflection, the project team hopes to share their learning gains and growth with more students through this sharing event, and to help more students participate in learning and create a good learning atmosphere.
At the beginning of the sharing meeting, Chu Ruhao introduced the members of the Metro team and explained in detail the five elements of data analysis: data, indicators, dimensions, fields, and definitions. He combined practical cases to make these abstract concepts vivid and easy to understand. Then, he comprehensively analyzed each link of the data project from data sources, quality assurance, to implementation processes, etc., enabling students to have a deeper understanding of data analysis.
The goal of this project is to increase the core sales volume of merchant vouchers and the number of subway and bus users. The analysis method used is the A/Btest scheme. The Metro team ensured the accuracy and consistency of data through steps such as data cleaning, integration, and transformation, and ultimately came to a conclusion.
In the summary stage, each group member shared their gains and growth. Chu Ruhao understood the importance of doing things correctly and doing the right thing. Lin Mengqiang has gained a lot from his initial confusion to his current proficiency. Fan Kaixuan said that although operation is difficult, it is very meaningful. Duan Lian and Huang Jingwen also shared their experiences.
At the end of the lecture, mentor Zhou Yang met with everyone online via video, praising the efforts of the Metro team and encouraging everyone to continue exploring the world of data.
Teacher Xue Fei from the Youth League Committee presented a medal with the personal signature of Senior Zhou Yang, and encouraged everyone to take this opportunity to actively participate in various competition activities in their future studies, strengthen their beliefs, and move towards a better future.
In this exchange and sharing meeting, Metro team members will combine practice and theory to lead students in exploring the world of data. We believe that everyone will accumulate more experience and learn more professional skills.
