On the afternoon of November 12th, the launch ceremony of the 11th Shanghai China Cup Teacher Vocational Skills Competition and the 145th Anniversary of Huang Yanpei's Birthday themed exhibition, jointly organized by Shanghai China Vocational Education Society, Shanghai Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, and Shanghai Education Commission, were held at the Youth Activity Center in Pudong New Area.
Gu Tianji, a student from Class 1 of 23 undergraduate students of the Institute of Information Engineering majoring in digital media, was invited to participate in this activity. Her red Paper Cuttings work, Hundred People in a Century, was exhibited in this activity.
Gu Tianji took advantage of his own professional advantages to deeply study the facial bones of the characters, and chose Paper Cuttings, an intangible cultural heritage with unique Chinese traditional characteristics, to explore, to ensure the overall shape of fine and continuous lines, and to explore the practical application of intangible cultural heritage in the contemporary era. The inspiration of this work comes from the in-depth study of the facial bones of the characters based on the portraits of several outstanding Communist Party members in memory of the founding fathers and other revolutionary pioneers. Photoshop software was selected for the design of the drawings, and a carving knife was used for cutting and portraying. In order to ensure the smoothness of the lines and make the overall shape thin and continuous, efforts were made to practice Paper Cuttings technology. Through continuous practice, the combination of traditional Paper Cuttings and digital technology has greatly improved the efficiency of Paper Cuttings design and production, reduced the production difficulty and shortened the production cycle.
Paper Cuttings art is an important part of China's excellent traditional culture. It has a unique modeling technique. With scissors and carving knives as the main tools, it is created through cutting, portraying and other techniques to show the charm of Chinese traditional culture.
At the exhibition, the work One Hundred People for a Hundred Years attracted many visitors to stop and watch, and also let more people to understand the stories of outstanding Communist Party members behind Paper Cuttings. They were moved by their advanced deeds, and attracted by the charm of Paper Cuttings, an intangible cultural heritage.
As a student of the Junior Party School of Information Engineering College, Gu Tianji had an idea to lead her team members to learn red culture and feel the charm of Paper Cuttings together. A piece of red paper and a carving knife, the faces of the ancestors with sword eyebrows and stars gradually appeared in their own hands, full of a sense of achievement. The team members are all Paper Cuttings for the first time. Under the leadership of the team leader, they keep trying and learning, and become more skilled in cutting.
Through a series of activities, students not only experienced the charm of China's excellent traditional culture Paper Cuttings, but also met with their ancestors in this different way, gradually understood their stories behind them, treasured the beautiful life at present, strengthened the leadership of the CPC, and worked hard to realize the Chinese Dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
