On the morning of September 14, the 2023 BRICS Vocational Skills Competition Manufacturing Robots International Competition was grandly opened in Shanghai Zhongqiao Vocational and Technical University. The competition was organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Training of South Africa, the BRICS Business Council and the Gauteng Provincial Government of South Africa. The Skills Development Working Group of the BRICS Business Council (Chinese side), the Belt and Road and BRICS Skills Development International Alliance, the Sino-Foreign Cultural Exchange Center of the Ministry of Education were the Chinese organizing units, and Shanghai Zhongqiao Vocational and Technical University was the executive organizer of the competition. Shanghai Inlun Information Technology Co., Ltd. is the Chinese technical support unit. The competition lasted for 3 days, and a total of 20 teams from Shanghai, Guangdong, Jiangxi, Guizhou, Chongqing, Xinjiang, Sichuan and other provinces and cities participated.

Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute of Electrical Engineering associate researcher (referee chief) Xu Jianprovince, manufacturing robot competition team leader Xue Ying, as well as support and participate in the competition at all levels of leaders, experts, judges, players attended the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was presided over by Yuan Ming, deputy dean of the School of Information Engineering of Shanghai Zhongqiao Vocational and Technical University.
At the opening ceremony, the whole audience stood up and sang the national anthem of the People's Republic of China.
The opening ceremony featured a video message from Ms. Mapule Ncanywa (Mapule Nkanwa), Chair of the BRICS Business Council Working Group on Skills Development from South Africa.
Mr. Liu Zhenying, head of the Skills Development Working Group of the BRICS Business Council (China), delivered an opening speech by video. It is also one of the main tasks of the BRICS Skills (China) Group to build a high-level and distinctive vocational education competition platform and promote in-depth cooperation and exchanges in the field of education among BRICS countries.
The referee will take the oath on behalf of Xu Jian Province. Strict judgment, polite judgment, with good ethics and professional judgment quality, to ensure the smooth progress of the competition, for the skills competition to add luster!
Finally, Feng Xiao, vice president of Shanghai Zhongqiao Vocational and Technical University, announced the opening of the competition and wished all the contestants a good performance and success.
