The 2023 AOPA East China Drone Vocational Application Skills Competition, organized by the China Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, was held on November 16 and 17, 2023 at the East China Drone Base in Shanghai. In order to better enhance the professional application skills development of drone students in the field of drone control, this competition has gathered talents and enthusiasts from drone professional colleges and flight fields, presenting a wonderful and diverse flight feast for the vast audience.
The content of this competition is divided into theoretical knowledge of drones, simulator operation, and coordinated practical skills. The School of Information Engineering dispatched eight students from the Chinese Overseas Chinese First Team and the Chinese Overseas Chinese Second Team, led by their mentor Qi Fuli, to participate. The Chinese Overseas Chinese students, with outstanding flying skills and superb control abilities, won the Excellent Team Award and the Third Team Award. Teacher Qi Fuli was awarded the Excellent Guidance Teacher Award, and the school was awarded the Excellent Partner Award.
In the fierce competition, the students of information technology and engineering won the praise and applause of the judges and audience for their outstanding flying skills and performance.
