On August 22, 1920, the first youth organization in China, the Shanghai Socialist Youth League, was born at No. 6 Xinyuyangli, also known as Xinyuyangli, on Xiafei Road, a century old Shikumen building. Yu Xiusong was appointed by Chen Duxiu, the leader of the founding group of the CPC. This two-story house was the address of the Youth League organization at that time. The first floor is the Foreign Language Society, and the second floor is the office space of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League.
Visiting the former site of the Youth League Central Committee was a very meaningful experience, which deeply inspired and moved the students. This place carries the history and memory of the Communist Youth League of China, and also witnesses the hardships and struggles experienced by Chinese youth in the past years. Entering the former site of the Youth League Central Committee, everyone seems to have traveled back to that era full of ideals and passion.
Entering Yuyang, we should establish our faith in Marxism, our belief in socialism with Chinese characteristics, and our confidence in the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and the Chinese Dream. Young comrades should continue to carry forward the spirit of the May Fourth Movement, hone their skills and pass on their beliefs in practice, so that their youth and dreams can continue to meet in the coming years. We should take it as our responsibility to achieve the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and not disappoint this great era!
