Introduction to the competition
The National College Digital Art and Design Competition (NCDA) for Future Designers is a national college student competition sponsored by the Talent Exchange Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, recognized by the Chinese Higher Education Association of the Ministry of Education, and supported by the Learning Strong Country learning platform, with 15 provincial education departments issuing documents and projects. The competition started in 2012 and is held once a year. As of now, it has been held for ten consecutive sessions and is one of the important competitions actively participated by universities.
Every year, more than 1800 universities participate, with 92% of 985 and first-class universities and 99% of well-known design schools participating. The competition has four tracks, namely non proposition, public welfare, proposition and innovation and entrepreneurship, which include Metauniverse+design, future design, China-Chic Intangible Cultural Heritage design, rural design, visual communication design, animation and video design, interaction design, residential environment and planning design, industrial product design, fashion design, virtual IP and expression package design, digital painting, digital photography, digital music, etc.
Participation situation
This competition has 1826 universities participating, with a total of 289865 entries collected and 29 provincial-level competition areas established; The participation rate of top universities in 985 reached 92.85%; 100% of universities with a C-level or above in the evaluation of design disciplines will participate; Adopting a five rounds, three levels, and double publicity evaluation competition system, the works go through school level competition - qualification competition - provincial preliminary competition - provincial final (publicity) - national final (publicity) to determine the provincial and national competition awards respectively. Among them, the first and second prizes of the provincial competition were nominated for the national finals.
Award Presentation
The student entries, guided by multiple teachers from the Digital Media Technology major of the School of Information Engineering, won three first prizes and one third prize in the Shanghai competition.
At the same time, Shen Siyuan's work Encountering the Construction of Shanghai - The Beauty of Repetition guided by Teacher Yin Ruiyang won the second prize in the country.
