The School of Information Engineering was founded in 2003, formerly known as the Department of Information Technology. With the continuous expansion of talent demand in the information technology industry, it has now developed into the second level college with the largest number of majors and the largest student scale in the school. At present, it is a vice chairman unit of the Drone Education Professional Committee of the China Education Technology Association, a talent reserve base of the Integrated Circuit Branch of the China Semiconductor Industry Association, and a director unit of the Cisco Network Technology College.
The School of Information Engineering actively aligns with national strategic needs, focuses on the construction of new engineering disciplines, keeps pace with the times, and actively carries out professional layout. Currently, it has four undergraduate majors: Digital Media Technology, Internet of Things Engineering Technology, Big Data Engineering Technology, and Artificial Intelligence Engineering Technology, all of which have the qualification for full-time college to undergraduate enrollment. Among them, the Digital Media Technology major is a pilot major of China University to University Integration in Shanghai, The Big Data Engineering Technology major is a first-class professional group in Shanghai; There are seven vocational majors and directions available, including Computer Application Technology (Shanghai 085 Key Construction Major), Digital Media Technology, Internet of Things Application Technology, Big Data Technology (Shanghai Education Commission Dual Certificate Integration Pilot Major), Computer Application Technology (Artificial Intelligence), Drone Application Technology (2023 Key Development Major), and Digital Media Technology (Electronic Sports and Network Live). All majors are integrated with industry and education, and are pilot majors of the Ministry of Education's 1+X program (approved for 1 Ministry of Education's 1+X exam center and 12 pilot programs). The college currently has more than 2500 students on campus. The College of Information Engineering will gradually upgrade its existing vocational majors to vocational undergraduate majors, while achieving effective connection between vocational majors and undergraduate programs, promoting the effective improvement of students' skills and educational qualifications.
The college has a strong faculty with a reasonable knowledge, education, and age structure, and 80% of teachers are dual qualified. The college teachers have strong research abilities and fruitful achievements. They have published more than 50 papers (1 SCI, 7 EIs, and more than 10 Chinese core papers), 15 textbooks, 4 monographs, and 17 patents. They have repeatedly won special and first prizes in various competitions such as the Challenge Cup, Internet Plus, Starlight Cup, National Vocational College Skills Competition (IoT, VR, big data, etc.), Cross Strait Competition, Mobile Commerce Competition, 3D Design and Creativity Competition, etc. Graduates are highly welcomed by employers for their high comprehensive quality and strong professional skills, with a continuous employment rate of over 98% and a professional alignment rate of over 82%.
