On June 7, 2024, Rista Labour Protection Co., Ltd, an industry-university-research cooperative enterprise affiliated with Shanghai Zhongqiao Vocational and Technical University, took part in the Thailand International Exhibition for Personal Protective Equipment. This significant participation was made possible through the support and guidance of the leadership of Shanghai Zhongqiao Vocational and Technical University and the School of International Education. Prof. Huang Lixin, Vice President of Shanghai Zhongqiao Vocational and Technical University, Li Juan, Assistant to the Dean of the School of Economics and Management, and the leader of the Industry-University-Research Project of Shanghai Zhongqiao Vocational and Technical University, and Mr. Qiu Yaoming, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and General Manager Xu Xiaoqiang, four people went to Krirk University for a visit. Professor Qi Bin, Vice President of Krirk University , Professor Xie Mingxun, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, and Luo Cheng, Assistant to the President, warmly welcomed the visitors.
Mr Luo Cheng introduced the guests and showed a promotional video of Krirk University. Krirk University was founded by renowned educator Dr. Gele Mangrabuk in 1952 and is a Sino-Thai higher education degree mutual recognition agreement institution. It is based in Thailand, having the right to confer bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees, with scientific research as the leading role and the cultivation of applied talents as the specialty. Since its establishment, it has trained many outstanding graduates for the ASEAN region, and several ministerial leaders among the current Thai cabinet members are from the university. The university has set up the College of Business Administration, College of Humanities, College of Law, College of Chinese International Language and Culture and other colleges and institutes. 2023, in the international university ranking authority QS Asia Top Universities List, Krirk University is ranked among the top five universities in Thailand and ranked 149th out of more than 8,000 Asian universities and colleges.
At the beginning of the meeting, Vice President Qi Bin delivered a speech, introducing the historical overview of Krirk University and the starting point of subsequent cooperation. He especially mentioned that 2025 will be the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand, and it is expected that Zhongqiao University, Rista and Krirk University would cooperate deeply at this special time.
Vice President Huang Lixin thanked Krirk University for their warm reception and introduced the overview of Zhongqiao University, focusing on the characteristics of thecolleges, discussing the Zhongqiao University's development strategy of ‘international vision, faculty enhancement, industry-educationintegrationand modern governance’ and vision of ‘To become a modern vocational and technical that is leading in China and internationally renowned’ for the cooperation.
Mr Xu Xiaoqiang, General Manager of Rista shared an overview of Rista and the school-enterprise co-operation. He said that Rista was founded in 1998, focusing on innovative hand protection product development, providing one-stop hand protection solutions, and possessing exclusive patented glove design and coating technology. At present, Rista has more than 70 international and domestic patents and self-developed formulas and production processes and other core technologies. He expects to promote industrialization through the ‘industry + university’ approach. At present, Rista is carrying out the global supply chain layout and the development and establishment of the global marketing network. There are many opportunities and space for cooperation with Krirk University in global brand promotion, advertising and publicity, as well as the construction of overseas bases and local marketing networks.
Chairman of Rista Qiu Yaoming further expressed his hope that through this visit, the three parties will strengthen their understanding and deepen their cooperation in the areas of production, learning and research, technology, and network marketing in the international market, etc. The enterprise will help the university to cultivate high-quality and comprehensive talents, and the university will help the enterprise's talent reserve and sustainable development.
During the meeting, President Xie Mingxun shared the tripartite objectives and the mode of cooperation. He proposed that Zhongqiao University, Rista and Krirk University should combine their respective goals to commercialize the results of scientific knowledge research and development, and that Thailand, as a transportation hub in Southeast Asia, has a unique geographical advantage, and that the future cooperation is very much worth looking forward to in view of the respective resource advantages and goals of the three parties. Afterwards, the participants had a warm discussion on the interface between education and market, innovation and entrepreneurship incubation work, student training, faculty training and other aspects.
The visit of Krirk University was a complete success, which not only deepened the cooperation and friendship between Shanghai Zhongqiao Vocational and Technical University, Rista and Krirk University, but also provided a platform for the three parties to understand the new situation and new changes of the market in the new era, as well as to share more international educational resources and opportunities for cooperation.
